AGENCY VCO & VCAs
Individuals with the DGS VCA and VCO Certification can attend this course and earn hours towards their training Certification requirement. DGS allows VCAs to earn 16 hours from an agency sponsored procurement training and VCOs to earn 32 hours. DGS has confirmed that the hours specific to Contract Training for this course will count.
Course Overview:
The purpose of this training is to improve contracting, contract administration and project management. The session will address fraud and overcharge, prevention, detection and response. It will include practical approaches, defining and communicating expectations for managers and others. The desired outcome is cost containment and timely identification of problems, including fraud.
The course includes materials adapted from our existing courses including Fraud Awareness for Managers, Auditing Contracts, as well as Purchasing Fraud: Prevention, Detection, Response and Construction Fraud: Detection, Prevention & Response.

Know risks related to procurement and contracting, including current trends
Understand their role in prevention and identification of problems
Be able to use practical tools to assess fraud exposures in their own environment
