Course Description:
In every organization, policies and procedures serve as the backbone of operational consistency, compliance, and organizational culture. Yet despite their critical importance, these documents are often poorly written—either so vague they provide no real guidance, or so dense and technical that employees ignore them entirely. The ability to craft clear, actionable, and user-friendly policies and procedures is an essential skill that bridges the gap between organizational goals and daily operations. This course addresses a common workplace challenge: how to translate complex requirements, best practices, and institutional knowledge into documents that people will actually read, understand, and
follow. This course will equip you with practical frameworks and writing techniques to create policies and procedures that adhere to expectations outlined in The Global Standards, drive clarity, reduce risk, and support your organization's mission.

Who Should Attend: Auditors with any level of audit experience who want to create, revise or make recommendations for enhancing policies and procedures. (NASBA Field of Study: Business Management & Organization)

Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Distinguish between policies, procedures, and other organizational documents, understanding when each type is appropriate
  • Translate complex requirements, regulations, and institutional knowledge into clear, accessible language that employees can understand and apply
  • Apply plain language principles and The Global Standards to write actionable policies and procedures using plain language principles that provide concrete examples and user-friendly formatting to encourage readability and compliance
